MONTAGUE M-E1

Introducing the Montague M-E1, the world’s first full-size performance foldable e-bike. A revolutionary new e-bike designed for the urban rider, the M-E1 is equipped with Shimano Steps E6100 and a Deore drive train, and folds in seconds with a single quick release.

The M-E1 offers the same ride quality as a non-folding mid-drive e-bike, but can be stored in the closet, train, or car trunk, keeping it safe from theft and out of the elements.

PORTABILITY

When folded, the M-E1 can be effortlessly rolled for easy transport. Roll it into the elevator, up to the office, or into your apartment. Take it in the train, bus, or car trunk for a multi-modal commute.

SECURITY

Traditional e-bikes are not ideal for the city, where riders don’t want to lock their valuable investment on the street and space is limited indoors. The M-E1 can be stored safely and securely in a closet.

PERFORMANCE

The M-E1 does not sacrifice ride quality to offer the most convenient e-bike on the market. Full size 700c wheels and industry standard components deliver the high performance riders demand.

SHIMANO E6100

The Montague M-E1 comes equipped with a Shimano STEPS E6100 mid-drive motor, the newest premium e-bike system from the world leader in bicycle components. The compact, lightweight, and powerful system ensures you will arrive at your destination feeling fresh and invigorated.

  • 250W Shimano E6100 mid-drive motor
  • 2.88 kg Reduced weight drive unit
  • 36V / 418Wh Lithium Battery Pack
  • 60 Nm maximum torque

EASY FOLDING

Our patent pending design makes folding fast and effortless. A single quick release unlocks the frame, allowing the front half to rotate around against the rear wheel. The weight of the bike is supported by the kickstand, so you don’t need to lift or balance the bike while folding. A second quick release on the stem folds the handlebars for an even more compact size.

You'll need to check with Montague regarding availability in other countries including Australia.

I have two of the M-E1 in the store now! It's a great machine, full size folding with high quality drive train. The frame is aluminum. It weighs in at about 60 lb. Chain drive, no belt drive option. And I do not know about availability in Australia.
Check it out on the website for full details and to purchase.

As far as I know, the ME1 is so far an imaginary bike. I have no details on availability, and the Covid pandemic has set everything back. I am equaly excited about getting my hands on one! - Geoffrey

I am really interested in the m-e1. Are they available yet? If not, when will they be available? What is the cost? How do you like them performance wise? How much do they weigh? Is the frame Al? Do they come in belt drive? Well from all that I know now. I would like to reserve one. I would like an appointment to test drive. If I order one and it comes in and I test drive it only to discover that it doesn't work for me, can I return it? (Pretty sure it will be just what I want.
